Episode 4 now runs from the end of the city tour through Fumblemore’s recipe in the private 0.9.0 development build. Peculier stays at the Elysium. Lysander explains why he is worried, gives the party temporary Skylord licences, and leads Honeydew, Xephos and Mejlock into the upper city. The licences are still just pieces of paper; Honeydew’s hopes for a uniform and goggles survive in the conversation.
The crossing to the wizard’s tower starts with a gap. Xephos lays the first stone lane, then moves across so Honeydew can widen it and add a torch. You can watch them work, and the finished bridge stays in the save. Restarting partway through construction also resumes the unfinished work without rebuilding the stones already placed.
Inside the tower, the party overshoots the right floor, doubles back through the bookshelves and waits while Fumblemore finishes in the WC. His introduction keeps the “Zapdos” mix-up, followed by the misunderstanding about a pint of Guinness. The important conversation uses the main dialogue panel. Taking down the recipe requires a deliberate interaction with Fumblemore, and the recipe then stays in the party journal. No finished potion or cure is awarded here.
This chapter exposed a stubborn stair problem during testing: Minecraft was routing companions toward the upper half of a doorway instead of its floor. They could reach the door and still fail to descend. That path now leads onto the actual floor before the NPC replans the rest of its route. The latest complete run from Episode 3 reached the recipe without a restart, NPC teleportation or manual story repair. All 67 checks on the saved ending passed, including resident identities, the completed bridge and the two party records.
Testing used the actual Minecraft server and client, with automated player travel and faster dialogue for the complete traversal; licence and recipe interactions were also checked with the client controls. Owner playtesting and normal-speed pacing review are still ahead. This is a development milestone, not a public release.
Next is Episode 5: the Pool of Memory explanation, Braeburn’s record-for-apple bargain, Jasper’s house, and the breakfast distraction. Episodes 5–7 are still in development. Mistral’s later destruction is outside this stretch of the story.
